Tip 15: How to get more advertising pop-ups Download and install file sharing software like Morpheus or Kazaa, or Real Player. This will help ensure that you get more ads than ever before. If for some reason you don’t want extra ads or spyware on your computer, uninstall junk programs (Start | Settings | Control Panels | Add/Remove), then download and run Ad-Aware. ;-) Or ask us to do it for you. Tip 16: How to defragment your hard drive
Files on
your hard drive are not stored all in one block—over time they become
fragmented and spread out on the disk. This can slow your access to the files.
To counteract the fragmentation, there is a utility called Defrag that will
clean up the fragments and improve the speed of your hard drive. We perform
this task as part of our regular maintenance, but you can do it yourself if
you like. In Windows 2000 or XP, click on Start | Programs | Accessories |
System Tools | Disk Defragmenter. Choose the disk to be defragmented, and
click “Defragment.” This can take a while, but you can continue to use your
computer while it runs.
