Tip 19: What
to do if you think you have a virus
If your antivirus software reports a virus to you, write down the name of the virus. Then call us at the number below before you do anything else. Next, if the computer is plugged into a network, unplug the network cable. This looks like a fat phone cord plugged into the computer. This will keep your computer from spreading a virus to other computers. Once you call us we can help resolve the problem. Tip 20: Learn keyboard shortcuts You can accomplish a lot on your computer by using the mouse to click on menus. Many commands can be executed using keyboard shortcuts, however. For example, click on the Edit menu of any program. Next to the commands for Copy, Cut, and Paste, you will see Ctrl-C, Ctrl-X, and Ctrl-V. These are the corresponding keyboard shortcuts for the menu commands. If you explore the menus you can learn many keyboard shortcuts such as these. Using the keyboard instead of the mouse can really speed up your work.
